I am terrified to write this post, because i don’t want a “Kinehora”. (Not the evil eye) pish pish, poo poo.
I took Mom to the Cancer Center on Monday May 24th, for her routine lab work and check in with her treatment team. This week her numbers were amazing! Baruch HaShem! pish pish, poo poo! Her platelets are actually so high, she needs to take baby aspirin daily to thin out her blood and make sure she doesn’t develop a secondary issue of clots. Her Hemoglobin is holding high. And WBC along with RBC are all trending well. So, no transfusions were needed. Baruch HaShem!
The Doctors believe Marsha Sue is responding well to the Chemo, the only way they can confirm this is by preforming a bone marrow biopsy which they will do in 2 months or so. 🤞 Fingers Crossed! Pish Pish Poo Poo. We all pray this continues, we know its not a solution to heal it, but its a super bandaid that gives Mom hope and more and more time. Baruch HaShem.
Moms Chemo is pushed back a week, she will start her at home pills on this coming Monday May 31st, due to miscommunication between the pharmacy and insurance companies. The serenity prayer has served us well on this issue.
Moms spirit is Up and her strength is growing, she is able to walk more without her walker. Jennie did some hard labor in her backyard this past weekend and cleared space where she then hung a hammock, which the entire family has enjoyed, including Marsha Sue. She was able to get into the hammock, just had some difficulty getting herself out… the laughter was heard through the entire neighborhood! I wish you all could have seen and heard it. Thank goodness she was laughing with us and no one got hurt!
On a more serious note, as we approach the end of May and the beginning of June, I (Laura) will be leaving next week for my own health reasons. So, we as a family are asking if anyone is able to help drive Mom to appointments at the Cancer Center in Hackensack NJ, or even to come visit with Mom, as the weather changes, please reach out and let us know, it would be greatly appreciated.
