Marsha Sue Is Going Home

The mother today looks great! She’s upright out of bed in her chair, she just got dressed, out of hospital clothes and is in her sneakers ready to walk the f*ck out of this place. I had to tell her to use to the walker and not brake hospital rules until we actually get the clearance to leave. She still has the iv line in her hand, but it’s disconnected, so she does have a little more freedom. She held down her breakfast and had an appetite, which is way more then she’s had since we got down the shore.
We are waiting for the infectious diesease doctor to give the clearance and discharge.
No fever, no symptoms like yesterday’s.
So keep your fingers crossed and don’t hold your breathe because as we all know hospitals move at their very own snail pace.
With the Infectious Disease Doctors stamp of approval we were going to be discharged, however 30 minutes later the nurse came to tell us that the Neurologist ordered a CT scan for mom. Mom said , “Absolutely not! I already have a Neurologist that I am working with and seeing on Thursday.” So, now the Neurologist has to sign us out so we can leave.

So, now we wait…. and eventually we will go home today! Can’t get out of here fast enough… Guess who said that? Lol 😂

The plan for discharge , is she will continue antibiotics orally for five days, at home. And will follow up with her treatment team at Hackensack in North Jersey. We will cruise home on the Garden State Parkway listening to Lala’s favorite song “Fly Me To The Moon” on repeat in 70 different variations, to test Marsha’s every last nerve. Just incase the hospital didn’t already…. Isn’t that what daughters are for?!
